Cape Town is a dream destination in South Africa and a great place to experience many must-do adventures. It is a magical city, dominated by the flat-topped Table Mountain. It stretches around the mountain, and wherever you are there are often glimpses of the sea and golden beaches, not to mention this iconic mountain as a stunning backdrop. The city is so diverse, from mountains to sea, to vineyards, to safaris – it’s hard to fit it all in. This is where Cape Town Helicopters come in. They provide services where one can enjoy all that Cape Town has to offer. They will take you to interesting destinations, while giving you stunning views of the beautiful city and countryside.

Cape Town helicopter tours last from 12 minutes to 3 hours, making it easy to find something to fit into the schedule, whether busy or relaxed. Their range of tours includes scenic flights, vineyard flights and other experiences.

For example, in the scenic flights, the Twelve Apostles Flight promises breathtaking views of South Africa’s iconic natural wonder, Table Mountain, and the Twelve Apostles overlooking Camps Bay. As a second example, The Creation Wine Estate Cape Town Helicopter flight package includes a private helicopter flight to and from Creation Wine Estate and a half-day experience at the estate. However, tourists can enjoy tasting, pairing, shopping and lunch on their own. In the experiential tour like the Magical West Coast Mussels experience, it includes the flight to the property, where the mussels and oysters are farmed, followed by a delicious meal of mussels and oysters and champagne (with some starters of bread and smoked fish) as well as soft drinks.

The company also offers exciting add-ons, such as a sea safari or a sunset cruise, and travelers can even make the flight exclusive for themselves or their guests. These wonderful additions to their already memorable experience will showcase the exquisite character of Cape Town. They are bound to experience the beauty and culture of the city, in a unique and memorable way.

International arrivals had been growing steadily since 2010 in South Africa and came to a halt during COVID-19. Today, the Indian market is one of the fastest growing source markets. With more than 17,627 Indian visitors traveling to South Africa between January and May 2022, the country expects to see a substantial increase in the number of Indian travelers next year.

NEIL WARREN, Cape Helicopters

Neil says: “In 2022, our Indian business has tripled. Our interest in the Indian market is therefore great. We see a lot of potential, that’s why I go to India twice a year to see our customers and partners and participate in road shows. Among the two best performing markets in the world for growth are the United States and India. So the Indian market is important to us.

Cape Town Helicopters also has the most modern fleet that operates in South Africa. The helicopter you fly has a huge impact on the quality of your tourist experience. Their Airbus H 120 and H 130 use a Fenestron enclosed tail rotor with unevenly spaced blades that break the frequency to allow lower noise levels. Operating below 60 decibels, it is one of the few machines allowed to operate in sensitive areas. They also have the Bell 206 helicopter, which comfortably seats up to six passengers and a pilot. There are also four-seat Robinson R44 Raven II and Clipper II helicopters that are capable, reliable and easy to maintain.

Asked about the expansion of his fleet, Neil mentioned: “We have increased the number of helicopters from 10 to 12, which is currently more than enough. It’s hard to add to this business and it’s better to work smarter. In addition, three helicopters in our fleet are six-seater, which is more than what our competitors in Cape Town offer. So we have a lot of capacity.

Cape Town Helicopters is represented in India by Ark Travel Group, led by Anjum Lokhandwala, Founder and Director, ARKRep and they are keen to grow and multiply their customers’ market share in India.

Neil concludes: “When visiting South Africa, Indians should visit Cape Town. It is a highly recommended and enticing place to visit. I love the adventurous spirit of all Indians to explore, young and old. However, I would like to point out that the level of Indian customer satisfaction is well above the national average. But our product is perfectly suited to deliver memorable and exhilarating experiences to all our Indian visitors.
