The Portland International Jetport has once again been named one of the best airports in North America by an international trade group.
The jetport was the best airport on the continent in 2020 for customer experience in its passenger class, according to the Airport Service Quality program of the Airport Council International. It has been compared to other airports which also handle between 2 and 5 million passengers per year.
The number of passengers passing through the airport collapsed during the coronavirus pandemic and, at the start of 2021, remained 60% lower than the previous year.
Despite the low number of travelers, the jetport asked customers how it could better serve them and offered incoming passengers COVID-19 landing tests, said customer experience manager Zach Briggs.
âWe were able to quickly identify, through surveys, the need to ensure that our food and beverage concepts continue to meet the demands of our passengers, and of course, inbound testing has been a critical addition to our experience this year, âBriggs said in a press release.
The jetport won the award for the best airport in North America for the under 2 million passenger category in 2015, 2017 and 2018, and in 2019 it earned the same designation in the 2 million to 5 million category. of passengers.
